Do I Need To Register My Ryobi Tools?

Do you guys register your tools/equipment?

Wondering who actually does this? I did it for the brand new 40v mower I got a couple weeks ago. I besides bought two new 18v 4aH batteries and ii clamp fans that I programme to annals.

I also just recently picked up some 40v equipment from Facebook marketplace.l to get with the mower. These were all returned pallet items that resellers were selling. Can I register those items besides? I got a trimmer, blower, hedge trimmer, and two 4aH batteries.

I normally exercise but supposedly ryobi but needs receipts, particularly for batteries and their website is cleaved every time I effort to actually annals anything.

level 2

I didn't upload my receipt when I registered the mower only I'k wondering if they would actually require that… what if someone doesn't annals anything and they bought an item new from HD and wants to warranty it 2 years afterwards? They don't have a copy of their paper receipt anymore so how would Ryobi require proof of the receipt and information technology'due south non possible for them to provide it?

level ane

Iv tried many times but the site is so bad and half the time does not work properly and so I stopped bothering

level two

Ryobi'due south website is terrible.

But I've noticed that well-nigh tool manufacturer websites are terrible.

level 1

I give Ryobi no more than info than admittedly required. Registration is non required for warranty work. All they're going to exercise is sell or lose my info anyway.

level 1

I practice information technology presently after I purchase as it requires uploading the receipt which is usually practiced because then I accept a record of it at their site and don't have to worry about tracking it downwards if something goes incorrect.

As for the used stuff information technology will probably let y'all register it but if you weren't the original purchaser you'll have a tough time getting whatsoever warranty protection.

level 2

I wonder if I can but say "Oh I bought it new from Home Depot x months ago, but don't have the paper receipt anymore"

level i

I do when I can, but I don't worry well-nigh not having something registered, because I think Cecil is right. I probably take three pages of tools registered, including some that were purchased used, and some that were purchased before Ryobi allowed registering online. But I still have many that were not registered because the website wouldn't piece of work when I tried.

level one

I practise, merely only because (1) I already record all the details in a spreadsheet of my own anyway, so it's easy plenty for me to re-create-and-paste into the website and (2) I have my own domain proper noun and create split up email addresses for every vendor, so if they endeavor and sell/spam me I'll know and (3) it might make warranty exchanges easier. If it makes a potential warranty call into a 5 infinitesimal thing instead of a 30 infinitesimal thing, that'southward a win for me.

level 1

I tried a few times but the website never worked, I gave up.

Took ten minutes to annals and EGO trimmer and a Skil set

level 1

I've replaced 5ah 40v bombardment under warranty and they just wanted a re-create of the receipt for the date of buy. Took like vi weeks to get the replacement and multiple followup phone calls only it worked only fine.

I've never registered a tool. I hope they never require information technology an a series number for mfg date or receipt will be practiced plenty. Too much paperwork in the world as is.

level 1

I try to register every purchase merely to be honest their website never works right. It is a huge POA to successfully register well-nigh times.

level 1

I registered my Dyson vacuum, merely I haven't registered whatsoever Ryobi tools.

level one

I register everything for the extra 2 years of warranty!

level 1

I practice with all my Ryobi tools. I also staple the receipt to the within of the owners manual and and then file the manual in my Ryobi manual file.
